Oxford Preparatory School is proud to celebrate a significant professional achievement by our lower school student services coordinator, Dr. Jade Gingue, who has earned her Ph.D. in educational leadership.
Dr. Gingueโs doctoral work reflects both academic rigor and a deep commitment to student well-being. Her dissertation, From Trauma to Triumph: The Relationship Between Psychological Resilience and Academic Resilience in Graduate Students with Adverse Childhood Experiences, examines how individuals who have experienced childhood trauma can successfully navigate and thrive in demanding graduate programs. Through quantitative research, she identified key resilience factors, such as self-efficacy, adaptability, and emotional regulation, that contribute to academic success.
Importantly, Dr. Gingueโs findings challenge traditional deficit-based perspectives on trauma by highlighting the strengths and capabilities of individuals with adverse childhood experiences. Her work offers a valuable framework for educational institutions seeking to improve student retention and success through trauma-informed practices. In addition to her doctoral degree, Dr. Gingue also completed a graduate certificate in trauma-responsive practices, further strengthening her expertise in supporting diverse student needs.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Gingueโs leadership and insight supporting our students and families. Her work continues to enhance our commitment to fostering a supportive, resilient, and inclusive learning environment for all.
