Each year during Griffinscape, we recognize outstanding members of our school community through several special awards. These include Upper School and Lower School Teacher of the Year, Support Staff of the Year, and the Spirit of the Griffin Award.
The Teacher and Support Staff of the Year selections involve a rigorous process that includes peer nominations, portfolio submissions, panel interviews with members of administration, board representatives, and the previous year’s winner, as well as classroom observations.
The Spirit of the Griffin Award honors one Upper School and one Lower School employee who truly embody the values and spirit of an OPS Griffin. Recipients are nominated and selected by their fellow staff members, making this recognition especially meaningful as it reflects the appreciation and respect of the colleagues they work alongside every day.
This year’s recipients are:
- Riley Olson – Lower School Teacher of the Year
- Jasmine Fogleman – Upper School Teacher of the Year
- Karen Brown – Support Staff of the Year
- Ashley Newton – Lower School Spirit of the Griffin
- Briana Abbott – Upper School Spirit of the Griffin
